As part of its missions, the various SAMU (Emergency Medical Assistance Service) are required to provide emergency transport for the people concerned (Accidents, major medical incidents requiring intensive care or medical assistance). In certain situations, the use of medical helicopters, also called ambulance helicopters or medical helicopters, is necessary in order to ensure rapid flights providing specific medical assistance.
With medical evacuations that can take place at any time of the day or night, these organizations were faced with the impossibility of providing night flights, insofar as the use of equipment such as night vision binoculars (NVGs) was prohibited; until then the use was reserved for military air. Since the evolution of the legislation in February 2018, the use of these JVNs on civil helicopters (for SAMU missions) is now authorized.
NSE was selected and is now entering into a partnership with the operator Mont Blanc Hélicoptères - SAMU (Groupe HBG); specialized in SAMU interventions, in order to begin to make this type of aircraft compatible with this type of night mission. This partnership will thus enable NSE to ensure, for the operator MBH, the harmonization of cockpits for night flight, NVIS certification by EASA of helicopters of the H145 and H135 type, as well as the supply of JVN, allowing to MBH-SAMU to deploy these night flights in complete safety.
NSE is now positioned as an important player for these civilian activities.
NSE is an international group with recognized expertise for over 35 years as a European leader in aircraft nocturnalization solutions. From the design to the installation of NVIS systems (modification kits), these solutions guarantee pilots optimal night vision conditions and secure night flights. To date, NSE has modified more than 1 500 aircraft worldwide on more than 20 operators.
